Greetings, Andrews Chapel Members
Rev. Donald Reed, the Church Council and the Long Range Planning Committee invite you to participate in one or more “listening sessions” designed to give you an opportunity to freely express your opinions on the future direction of our church.
We are approaching the 150th anniversary of the church in 2025 and we believe this is an opportune time to begin to assess our current and future needs. The purpose of the sessions is to hear from you on how we can best:
- Fulfill the mission and ministry of the United Methodist Church “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world” (The UMC Book of Discipline ¶120)
- Provide for the maintenance of worship, the edification of believers, and the redemption of the world as stated in the Preamble to the Book of Discipline
- Prepare for the church’s sesquicentennial celebration (150th anniversary) in 2025
Key discussion question: “Where would you like to see ACUMC in 2025 (150th church anniversary) in terms of these areas – Facilities, Ministries, Membership, Finances, Community Outreach and Community Partners?”
There will be five (5) face-to-face sessions, one (1) conference call session and an ongoing website session. Each session will be 45 minutes led by a facilitator to ensure that each person has an opportunity to be heard. You may choose to attend any of the sessions listed below:
